Lenticular Products
If you're in charge of advertising or marketing a product or company and are looking for something new and eye-catching, you may want to consider lenticular products and images. This may seem a bit high tech but chances are you're more familiar with these images than you realize, since they're commonly used in children's toys as well as in billboards and posters.
Lenticular products are those that look as if they're changing images as you tilt the image or walk past it. You may remember seeing these types of products when you were a kid; they were a favorite type of prize in Cracker Jack boxes and are often found in piñatas as well. The two images of course are related; it might be an eye that seems to blink or an animal that seems to run.
Today, lenticular products are commonly used to advertise movies, novels, and other products that may involve changing images. They can also be used by just about anyone in a wide variety of venues as they mimic a moving image and are very eye-catching. So how can you use them for your product or your company?
Determine Your Image or Message
You will have two images that go back and forth when you use lenticular products so determine what those images will be. Remember that you might also choose a message, such as one image asking a question and the second answering that question, or pointing out your company name as to where someone can go for the answer.
The company that provides lenticular products can guide you in this; they may suggest something that involves your logo or an image that is associated with your company name or product. If you go with a question or text message, this may also involve some type of graphic that would relate to this message.
Once you have the image or message determined then it's a matter of where you use your lenticular products and how to make the best of those products as well.
Where to Place Them
You need to be careful about where you place your lenticular products as in some areas they may be considered moving images. This means that you may not be able to use them for billboards and other areas where they're too much of a distraction. Often they're restricted in areas where there is traffic, as drivers may get distracted.
However, you may find them in shopping malls and other areas where you have quite a bit of foot traffic. This works well since the lenticular products change images when the image is moved or when the person looking at it moves. They're not typically effective in areas where people stand still, such as bus stops.
The company providing your lenticular products can typically also help you in this regard, as they know the most effective places to use these. Follow their suggestions carefully and you'll find that they can work well for you.
